      Thanks for writing to us about our Traveller Soft Racks.
      We are currently working on a revised version of the video.

      In the meantime, if you have specific questions about installing the Traveller Soft Racks on your vehicle, drop us a line at info@seatosummit.com and let us know

      – The type of vehicle you have
      – The type of load you’re intending to carry

      Please put ‘Traveller Soft Rack installation’ in the subject line.

      We’ll be happy to provide step-by-step instructions.

  1. I want to carry a Wilderness Systems sea kayak 5.18 metres & 25 kg
    Assuming correct installation is this within the safe range for your product?

    1. G’Day, Matthew

      The weight of your kayak is certainly within the parameters for safe usage for the Traveller Soft Racks, providing;

      – The vehicle on which the boat is being carried has a roof which will allow the soft rack units to be mounted far enough apart to provide stability. We do not recommend using the soft racks on vehicles with panoramic sun roofs.
      – Adequately strong tie down straps (for instance, Sea to Summit Bomber Tie Downs) are used to secure the boat to the soft rack units.

      As far as the length of the boat is concerned, this should not be a factor, providing:

      – A line is run from the bow of the boat to the towing eye underneath the front bumper, and a line is run from the stern to the rear bumper of the vehicle.

      Cheers

      B
